Carolee World required a redesign and re-organize of their existing site for a fresh new look. They also needed a user-friendly site that would allow them to change content and images frequently without headaches. Clients were a top priority with their new design and, as such, they requested a site that would be easy for customers to search, discover, and purchase new products, effortlessly. Redirects from their existing site in order to preserve SEO ranking were vital.
Our solution was to design a stylish, modern, and easy to use website, for both clients and the internal team at Carolee World. We also ensured all content was built into Shopify’s customizer meaning easy management for the client as they expand their business. Products needed to be easy to find, so we reorganized the collections to make things crystal clear.
Rather than simply having each piece of jewelry under its corresponding collection, we also ensured that each product was tagged with the type of jewelry it was (ring, necklace, etc) to ensure that buyers could sort by both collection and product type. As a unique way to tell their story, Carolee uses a tool called LiveStory to generate custom product-focused mood walls and as a way to organize their Instagram content within their store. LiveStory doesn’t have an active integration with Shopify but it was on Carolee’s “Must-Have” list for their new Shopify store. It took a little finesse but both pieces were able to be embedded into separate pages.
Each page of Carolee’s website needed to contain easy ways for customers to purchase to ensure that each visit converted into a sale. We also embedded Carolee’s Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel into each page of their new Shopify store to ensure that the team at Carolee had the best chance at turning a visitor into a customer.
From the beginning of the project Carolee was a client who knew exactly what they wanted and how they wanted it done. While not all projects need to have such a well mapped out process, in Carolee’s case it was imperative and was part of the reason the project was so successful. We were on a very tight timeline and kept the project on track for both time and budget. It’s never an easy process to build a new Shopify store but we try to make the experience as stress-free as possible.
Rather than simply having each piece of jewelry under its corresponding collection, we also ensured that each product was tagged with the type of jewelry it was (ring, necklace, etc) to ensure that buyers could sort by both collection and product type. We built in a sub-collection system that makes purchasing a breeze and is easy to keep organized for Carolee’s admins.
