Growth FromStrategy & Empowerment
Located in a historic limestone building in the heart of the beautiful downtown Kingston, Ontario, Metalworks is a goldsmithing studio and jewellery boutique that features fine Canadian designed jewellery. With a fresh new logo and branding, a fast user-friendly website, and social media coaching, Metalworks is bringing goldsmithing into the 21st century.
21st Century Logo
The initial challenge with Metalworks was to enhance their logo and branding. Owners Steve and Vicki knew they needed a change, but didn't have a clue where to start.
Through a series of phone interviews, designs, and branding exercises, a new modern logo was brought forward. Keeping in mind how it would be used, the new modern logo can be used in a variety of colours to suit the business need.
Previously, customers had a hard time finding the shop. With a large sign Steve and Vicki are proud of now fixed to the outside of their business, its impossible to miss.

Fast, User-Friendly Website
Along with a great new logo and colours, Metalworks needed a clean, functional, and easy to update website. With plans to produce blog posts, put efforts into social media, and continue to expand their digital reach, they knew a new site was critical.
The site layout stems from highlighting what naturally draws the visitor to stay as well as what highlights their unique value. With a simple carousel highlighting the process from start to finish of a custom piece, visitors understand immediately what Metalworks is all about. Additional focus was placed on highlighting "The Bench" blog posts and the work of each individual artist.
The site was a breath of fresh air for Metalworks and was instantly well received by clients, moving them from the 70's to the new millennium.
Social Media Coaching
From the very beginning, Vicki and Steve knew that a website wasn't the only thing holding them back. Starting with The Bench blog, Vicki has started to create posts that showcase the amazing work they do. Additionally, using tools like Hootsuite, they are able to share the information through social media, interact with customers, request and respond to reviews, and so much more. Make sure to follow them on social media for amazing posts, images, and one of a kind jewelry!
Empowerment & a Helping Hand
Steve and Vicki have seen how changes to their business can fuel growth, but they also recognize many of those changes had to come from within. We helped with technical items, ensured branding was modern, and continue to help with getting the most out of social media.
Both Vicki and Steve are first to admit that empowerment was the key ingredient that propelled their business forward. With a refreshed presence, everyone at Metalworks was eager to showcase their work and their brand. This is what led to growth.
